Technology is quite the blessing AND the curse; we’ve acquired more access to more things more and more rapidly, and as a result, we’ve also acquired more access to more things more rapidly. Not a typo.
Social media, among many other outlets, has given voice to everyone that desires one, including those who don’t need one, or perhaps more sensitively put, aren’t ready for one. The expedited production of opinions and rhetoric are so much harder to keep accountable because EVERYBODY has access, and because the clamouring for this type of information (and misinformation) has grown feverishly, the product has overtaken the process, and so people skip steps.
I believe we, for the most part, would all agree that not all information is good information. So here’s the question I’ve been eager to ask: who’s advising the advisers??? Who’s vetting these new “visionaries”??? Because today’s is the era of instant everything, and processes are being thrown out the window left and right in favor of platform, the desired discipling of individuals with the ordained stages of development in tow are becoming less the norm on the grand stage. And even though this is NOT what GOD intended, as the world turns, the church is turning, also.
That last sentence is the point of stating what we did above: this “bug” of instant promotion apart from protocol has bitten The Body, in which “process THEN promise” is most important and impactful, and NOT the other way around. We’ve created wiggle room, though, by exchanging the titles GOD established like Apostle, Pastor, Minister, Teacher, etc., for less accountable, and far less spiritually accredited, names like “life coaches” and “motivational speakers”, and instead of being vetted by credible leaders, we seek, and find, our validation from folks who are just like us or want to BE us. In other words, people who want the job, and in a lot of cases have taken it, are folks who don’t have the resume to back them up or skill set to perform the duties that are actually required.
Now, here’s the part that may come as a bit of a shock to those of us reading this as the more pressing concern in all of this (pay attention): everything reproduces after its own kind. EVERYTHING. Soooooo…if you’re someone who’s out of order, you have no choice but to teach others how to be the same. If I’m walking outside of my identity in CHRIST JESUS, I have no choice but to influence you, whether intentionally or not, to do the same. When’s the last time you’ve seen an apple tree produce an orange? I’ll wait.
I’ve never seen more people brazenly spit out unconfirmed rhetoric in the history of creation, twisting and manipulating scripture or completely abandoning it altogether, in attempts to be relevant and relatable, but doing so absent any true revelation, because that requires real relationship. Leaders need leaders. People who truly love people are accountable to them. Confused people should NOT reproduce, but they often arrogantly, either ignorantly or intentionally, intently look for someone unaware to impregnate (bad doctrine’ll have you popped…literally). People deserve, and should be able to expect, GODly counsel from people with GODly lifestyles, but people find it easier and more time efficient, on their part, to pretend than to prepare.
Please vet where the information you’re receiving is coming from. In today’s non-reading, non-verifying, do-it-yourself-everything society, we generally don’t ask questions, we just decide whether or not what we’re presented makes sense to us or is something we agree with or not, which means we readily take you, and what you SAY you do or who you SAY you are, at face value. I’ve seen lives destroyed because people worship their opinion as GOD, rather than worshipping GOD and making HIS opinion their own. The most damning part of the whole thing? Anything you THINK is right you can look for and find some sort of validation for. The problem with this is that if GOD isn’t confirming you, but Google is…I mean, yeah, problem. Discernment is needed because while everyone may have experience, not everyone has expertise.
Jeremiah 28:16 Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will cast thee from off the face of the earth: this year thou shalt die, because thou hast taught rebellion against the LORD.
Jeremiah 29:32 Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed: he shall not have a man to dwell among this people; neither shall he behold the good that I will do for my people, saith the LORD; because he hath taught rebellion against the LORD.
Love y’all… KD
